In My Healing I  Saw  the  Stone Plate

In My Healing I Saw the Stone Plate is part of an in-depth research on the resonance of stone. The piece focuses on an audiovisual experience that exclusively uses field recordings and images captured during walks along the coasts and caves of Portugal, in search of natural soundscapes.

The work was first exhibited in August 2024 at Zaratan. The video art piece was designed to be installed in PAL 720 x 576 format, specifically on a CRT television, to integrate the texture and analog aesthetics of the presentation.

eColonialism

is an audiovisual installation that interrogates the persistence of colonial structures in the digital age. Using geospatial data—ranging from river basins to land use and economic indices—the piece exposes how mapping, a seemingly neutral practice, serves capitalist ventures and territorial control. The video, projected onto a slab of stone, juxtaposes vibrant, algorithmically generated maps with a critical reflection on the digitisation of land as a form of modern colonialism. Accompanied by a stereo soundscape, the installation questions whether contemporary datafication is a rebranded, insidious continuation of historical exploitation.

Mar e Útero

Mar e Útero is a cinematic work that explores the relationship between water and the body using alternative sound recording methods. The film follows the narrative arc of a fetus's gestation, from insemination to birth. The soundscape is accompanied by macro- and microscopic images of uterine and oceanic processes, interwoven with footage from the artist’s own archive.

The film had its pre-premiere at the Buenos Aires International Film Festival 2024. As the project was conceived as a sonic experience, it is scheduled to premiere as a live performance at Rua das Gaivotas in January 2025.

    Water Spells

A  performance in  collaboration with Mariana  Pinho, presented by Nariz Entupido in Escola do Largo. The performance follows a ritualistic process, using a hydrophone,  multiple “air” instruments and 2 synths which are played in dialogue with each other.  The elements air and water  are playfully brought into contrast  and unison, creating an electronic, near meditative experience.

The State  of Things  as They  are

This short film was selected for its premiere at the British International Amateur Film Festival 2021 and received an honorable mention at Bad Film Fest 2021. It explores the theme of dissociation from reality, commonly referred to as psychosis, using surreal imagery to depict the journey of a young woman who repeatedly disconnects from herself and her surroundings. As she projects herself into alternate realities, the boundaries between them blur, pushing her to the edge of insanity.
